Dear Valued Customer,

We regret to inform you that the TS-BAT10 Battery Backup Module is being discontinued. This decision comes as a result of challenges in sourcing the batteries with reasonable lead times necessary for its production.​ There have been changes in the supply chain and there are no readily available stocked batteries that fit the mechanical form factor required for the TS-BAT10. This is causing very long lead times on TS-BAT10 shipments, and we are no longer able to offer reasonable or predictable lead times on the product given the maintenance needs of the battery technology.  

We can offer all customers a last time buy of TS-BAT10 modules. Please submit your last time buy orders by April 30, 2025.

We are also available to help customers update designs to deploy newer technologies that might not need to be reliant on board mounted battery solutions. Depending upon the application, embeddedTS products with the TS-SILO supercapacitor feature can provide Last Gasp Message and Graceful Shutdown support, eliminating risks of data loss from sudden power-failure events.  Supercapacitors are easier and safer to maintain in a wide variety of environmental conditions.

As the batteries have extremely long lead times it could be 6-12 months before the last time buy orders are able to ship. In order to ensure best battery life in the end application, all last time buy units must be shipped within 3 weeks of the batteries arriving at embeddedTS (we will not be able to support pull-in or push-out dates on the last time buy orders).

In participating in the last time buy, you will also be taking responsibility for properly storing and maintaining the batteries of the TS-BAT10 until they are deployed in the end application. We recommend provisioning an application Single Board Computer that has the proper software for monitoring and charging a TS-BAT10 safely as a battery maintenance unit and installing each TS-BAT10 unit on the maintenance system for a slow charge cycle every 3-6 months.
