New u-boot and accelerometer/gyroscope part
Dear Valued Customer,
We at embeddedTS are reaching out to inform you of a recent update to the shipping software for the TS-7250-V3, along with the introduction of a new replacement part for the accelerometer/gyroscope. A new U-Boot supporting this update is available and will be included with all new orders effective immediately.
As a part of our continual improvement process the embeddedTS engineering team has verified and approved an alternative accelerometer/gyroscope part. The ISM330DLC part will be phased out and replaced with the ISM330DHCX. This provides all the existing features, a longer availability, and additional component compliances.
The August 20, 2024, U-Boot release will detect the accelerometer/gyroscope part on the board and update the "compatible" string in the device tree so either variant can be supported. This part otherwise uses the same Linux driver and does not require any image changes to support either.
This change requires users to update their code to reflect the new IIO device name. The IIO stack used in Linux for these devices previously had the user open the "ism330dlc" device, and for new units will instead be "ism330dhcx". Our provided example C and Python code demonstrates how to support either accelerometer/gyroscope part present on the board with a single codebase.
