Dear Valued Customer,

We are contacting you today to notify you of  Board Revision Changes for TS-4700, TS-4710, and TS-4720 System-on-Modules embeddedTS strives to ensure the longevity of our products. One of the power regulator chips used on these products has been End-of-Lifed by the silicon manufacturer. We have selected replacement parts for the now End-of-Life components. In order to accommodate the new components, a new PCB revision is necessary. The new revision of these products is a form, fit, and function product drop in; and the replacement components have been thoroughly tested and qualified by us. There will be no changes needed to the software that runs on the System-on-Module (SoM) devices, or any carrier boards that support these SoMs.  See the table below for the individual product revision identifiers. These changes will be phased in on all products over the next several months.

The affected products are: TS-4700, TS-4710, TS-4720, TS-8100-4700, TS-8150-4710, TS-8150-4720, TS-8160-4700, TS-8280-4720, TS-8700-4710, TS-8820-4700, TS-8820-4710, TS-TPC-8380-4720, TS-TPC-8390-4700, TS-TPC-8390-4710, TS-TPC-8390-4720, TS-TPC-8900-4700, TS-TPC-8900-4710, TS-TPC-8920-4720

The on-board power regulator for the 1.5 V DDR3 circuit has gone EOL. We will be replacing it in the design with the same power regulator IC that is being used to generate the CPU core voltage and 3.3 V power rails.  As such this design change will have very little impact on the PCB design or any other hardware characteristics. This hardware design update will be completely transparent to all other aspects of the product’s use.
