Firmware and OS Update on TS-7800-V2
Dear Valued Customer,
We are contacting you today to notify you of a Firmware and OS Update on TS-7800-V2 from embeddedTS.
The affected products are: TS-7800-V2
This update addresses two issues with a rare chance of occurring on TS-7800-V2 hardware.
The FPGA revision is moved to revision 0x30. This adds a pull-up resistor to an IO pin (IRQ10) that did not have one previously. This ensures the pin always starts out at a known correct state on power up. Existing applications would be unaffected by this change.
The booting image is also modified to reduce the SPI clock speed to the on-board WILC3000 Wi-Fi device. Previously, the speed was set to the Wi-Fi device's maximum and it was found that any amount of natural fluctuation in the clock signal at this rate could cause the Wi-Fi device to enter an invalid state. The reduced clock rate has been found to allow the Wi-Fi module to be more resilient to natural clock fluctuations over the full temperature range of the product. The impact to average network speeds is negligible. No other SPI devices on the TS-7800-V2 are affected by this change. Existing applications would see no impact to their operation.
We at embeddedTS appreciate your business. If you have further questions or concerns, please contact us by either replying to this email or by filling out the "Contact Us" form at support.embeddedts.com.
