Dear Valued Customer,

We are contacting you today to notify you of a New eMMC Flash Qualified on the below products from Technologic Systems.  The eMMC flash used on the below products went EOL and has been replaced with a newer die rev equivalent.  The new eMMC device is just a minor die revision of the original eMMC device from Micron and will have no impact on application software or the product performance.  There may need to be an update to customer production processes, see below for details.

The affected products are: TS-4900, TS-7553-V2, TS-7680, TS-7970, TS-TPC-7990, TS-TPC-8390-4900, TS-TPC-8950-4900 and all custom variants.

The new eMMC from Micron has been tested on all of the above products and has no impact on the performance of the product or the software that runs on the product.  There was a minor improvement in the default setting for the  higher reliability modes of the eMMC to turn on the "write reliability" feature by default.  Some customer's production processes do check this setting prior to programing custom application settings and may need to be updated to anticipate the new default.  Technologic Systems has created an updated example script for checking and setting the higher reliability modes of the eMMC.

For more information please refer to the "Product Change Notices" section of the user manual of the appropriate product.  The TS-4900 & TS-7553-V2 user manuals are a good general reference and can be found here:
