Dear Valued Customer,

We are contacting you today to notify you of a Software Update on TS-4100 Platforms from embeddedTS. This update introduces several enhancements and fixes to improve the performance and reliability of the TS-4100 platform. The changes have no impact on existing applications and will enhance the robustness of the product.

The affected products are: TS-4100, TS-8551-4100, TS-8820-4100

As part of our continual improvement process, embeddedTS has released the latest updates for the TS-4100 platform, which include:

WILC3000 WiFi Drivers and Firmware Update (Version 16.3): Updated to the latest WILC3000 WiFi drivers and firmware to resolve previous connectivity issues and failures to restart after cycling the WiFi interface. This ensures a more stable and reliable wireless connection for your TS-4100 device.

Debian Packages Update: All Debian packages installed on the TS-4100 have been updated to the latest versions, providing improved security, performance, and compatibility with current software standards.

Kernel Update to Version 4.9.337: The TS-4100 has been updated to the latest 4.9.337 kernel release, enhancing system stability and supporting the latest hardware and software features.

SPI FRAM Clock Rate Adjustment on TS-8551: The SPI FRAM clock rate on the TS-8551 expansion board has been adjusted in the kernel to eliminate potential bit errors during data read or write operations. This kernel change ensures data integrity and improves the reliability of memory operations.

The latest image with these changes is dated 20240820.

These improvements have been thoroughly tested and will have no impact on the functionality, performance, or application software of your TS-4100 platform. Customers using custom configurations or software should consult the TS-4100 User Manual for instructions on applying these updates.
