Dear Valued Customer,

We are contacting you today to notify you of a Supervisory Microcontroller Update on TS-7970 platforms from embeddedTS. This update introduces several enhancements and fixes to improve the performance and reliability of the TS-7970 platform. The changes have no impact on existing applications and will enhance the robustness of the product.

The affected products are: TS-7970

As part of our continual improvement process, embeddedTS has released firmware revision 16 for the supervisory microcontroller on the TS-7970 platform, updating from revision 12. This update includes:

RTC Calibration Support: Added support for configurable RTC (Real-Time Clock) crystal offsets to allow for precise timekeeping calibration. This enhancement ensures more accurate timekeeping on the device. For more information, please refer to the RTC Calibration section in the TS-7970 User Manual:
https://docs.embeddedts.com/TS-7970#RTC_Calibration

Improved USB Serial Console Compatibility: Resolved an issue where certain USB serial console clients on Windows 10, such as PuTTY and Realterm, were unable to open the USB serial port provided by the TS-7970's built-in microcontroller after a Windows Update. This fix restores full compatibility with these clients for the microcontroller's USB serial console. Please note that this change affects only the USB device functionality of the supervisory microcontroller and does not impact the USB host capabilities of the TS-7970 or any connected USB peripherals. Connectivity with TeraTerm, Windows 11, and Linux systems was not affected.

Sleep Mode Wake-up Fix: Fixed a regression that affected the lowest power sleep mode when the USB connection was disconnected. The microcontroller now properly wakes up from sleep when the push-button is pressed, regardless of the USB connection state.

These improvements have been thoroughly tested and will have no impact on existing application software or the overall performance of the product.

We at embeddedTS appreciate your business. If you have further questions or concerns, please contact us by either replying to this email or by filling out the "Contact Us" form at support.embeddedts.com.
