Dear Valued Customer,

As part of embeddedTS’s continual product improvement efforts and to address a component end-of-life (EOL), we are updating the TS-7553-V2 Board Revision Change From Revision D to Revision E. This change includes critical component updates and minor circuit improvements aimed at increasing product longevity and enhancing functionality. While most customers will see no change in behavior, those using the inertial measurement unit (IMU) or UHS microSD features will require a future software update to take advantage of these new capabilities.

The affected products are: TS-7553-V2

The following improvements and changes are included in revision E of the TS-7553-V2:

• IMU Replacement: The previously used TDK InvenSense IMU, providing the accelerometer, gyroscrope, and magnetometer sensors for the platform, has gone EOL and is replaced with an STMicroelectronics IMU. Software support for this sensor will be announced in an upcoming PCS. For reference, this ST IMU is already supported in other embeddedTS products such as the TS-TPC-7990 Accelerometer and TS-TPC-7990 Gyroscope.
• NimbeLink & XBee Socket Enhancement: Additional I/O capabilities were added to improve support for cellular modules.
• microSD Circuit Enhancement: Pull-ups were corrected to support UHS mode. Customers with existing software that do not require UHS mode can continue using their current configurations without any change.
