Dear Valued Customer,
We are contacting you today to address XNAND2 Update to Prevent Spurious ECC Errors on a product you've purchased from Technologic Systems. A new software image containing an updated XNAND2 application will be released to correct this issue. Please read below for details on how to determine if your software needs to be updated, and instructions for updating your software. Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
The affected products are: TS-4700, TS-8100-4700, TS-8160-4700, TS-8820-4700, TS-TPC-8390-4700, TS-TPC-8900-4700
We've found that product combinations with the TS-4700 and Touch Panel Computer (TPC) baseboards will sometimes cause XNAND2 to incorrectly detect ECC errors. This can result in XNAND2 sectors being retired erroneously. We've identified and corrected the issue inside the 'nandctl' application.
For all customers who use the image pre-programmed on the TS-TPC-8390-4700 and TS-TPC-8900-4700 by Technologic Systems as is, i.e. load the application to the device without overwriting the original image, no changes will be required. Load the application code as usual on the new units.
For any customers who build their own image to be loaded into the on-board flash, please re-build your image using the files and information located at the following path:
