Dear Valued Customer,

embeddedTS is notifying you of a New Touch Screen Connector for Resistive TPC Products on several product families as listed below. The four-pin connector used to attach the resistive touch screen surface to the Single Board Computer is going End of Life from the manufacturer and it is being changed to a new style of connector to address this. This change has no impact on the form, fit, function, or software of the affected products, and customers can continue using the products without any modifications.

The affected products are:

• TS-TPC-7390
• TS-TPC-7395
• TS-TPC-8390
• TS-TPC-8900
• TS-TPC-8950
  

This update replaces the original locking four-pin flexible printed circuit (FPC) connector with a new connector that does not integrate a locking mechanism. The original connector has gone end of life, and the new connector has been fully qualified as the best available drop-in replacement. Fit checks, electrical continuity, and insertion/removal force tests were performed, and all results met specifications. To further reduce movement and provide additional retention, the FPC cable will be secured with tape during assembly at embeddedTS. The transition to the new connector will phase in effective immediately.
