We are contacting you today to notify you of a Processor Last Time Buy offer for TS-72xx, TS-73xx, TS-74xx & TS-TPC-739x. embeddedTS has been informed by Cirrus Logic that the EP9302 processor (utilized on the TS-72xx, TS-73xx, TS-74xx & TS-TPC-739x and other custom and customized versions of these products) is moving to End of Life status and will no longer be offered. embededTS will be placing a large Last Time Buy to mitigate the impact on our small to medium sized customers' products. We are extending the offer to our larger customers to participate in the Last Time Buy program to guarantee their product life cycle for as long as they would like.
The affected products are: TS-7200, TS-7250, TS-7260, TS-7300, TS-7350, TS-7370, TS-7390, TS-7395, TS-7400, TS-TPC-7390, TS-TPC-7395 and all standard and custom product variations
Cirrus Logic notified us that they are terminating production on the entire EP9302 processor family. The embeddedTS Last Time Buy date for these processors will be Oct. 6, 2022.
embeddedTS will be placing a Last Time Buy of the EP9302 processor to sustain our lower volume customers for approximately 4 years. Additionally, we are opening up a Last Time Buy program for customers who wish to ensure their supply of products using the EP9302 processor. We would encourage participation in this program for any customers who are purchasing products in volumes of 100 units per year or more, plan to ramp up their usage over the next several years, or would otherwise like to ensure a dedicated supply of these devices for their long-life product offering.
embeddedTS will facilitate the purchase and inventory management of the Cirrus Logic EP9302 processor on your behalf for $20 per processor. With this purchase we would provide you with a special part number to use in future purchases of the products you use today, which would pull from your reserved inventory of the Cirrus Logic processor. The pre-paid cost of each processor will be deducted from each product when purchased using your assigned, unique part number.
Please note effective Nov. 28, 2022 all products shipped which use this processor will incur an associated cost of $7 per unit to cover the inventory stocking services associated with maintaining an End of Life processor inventory. All customers who purchase these products will be subject to this cost and it will be reflected as a permanent $7 per unit price increase.
To participate and thus guarantee future product availability, customers must enroll in the Last Time Buy program, including completing the purchase of the Cirrus Logic EP9302, before Oct 6, 2022 (7 months ago). We are also happy to address any other concerns you may have with the affected single board computer products and discuss transition plans to newer platforms including the TS-7800-V2 and TS-7250-V3, two of our latest PC104 compatible upgrade solutions.
On a personal note, all of us at embeddedTS are sad to see the Cirrus Logic EP9302 processor go EOL. We began shipping platforms using this processor in 2004, nearly 20 years ago! The EP9302 was our first Arm®-based processor which eventually was incorporated into many different products.
