Updated Shipping Linux Software for TS-7553-V2 to Support Revision E IMU
Dear Valued Customer,
We are contacting you to notify you that embeddedTS has released an Updated Shipping Linux Software for TS-7553-V2 to Support Revision E IMU. This updated software image provides native support for the new sensors introduced on the TS-7553-V2 Revision E hardware and remains fully backward compatible with all existing TS-7553-V2 boards.
As detailed in our Revision D to Revision E hardware notice, the Revision E hardware replaces the legacy MPU-9150 with a new Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) from STMicroelectronics. To support these devices and provide a modern, long-term stable environment, embeddedTS is transitioning the standard shipping software to Debian 12 (Bookworm) with Linux kernel 6.6. This update also includes our latest bug fixes and security patches for improved system reliability.
The affected products are: TS-7553-V2
While this image is compatible with Revision D and older as well as the new Revision E TS-7553-V2, it is not a "drop-in" change for all custom software. Specifically, customers with applications that interface directly with the General-Purpose Input/Output (GPIO) or the on-board sensors (accelerometer, gyroscope, or magnetometer) should review the updated documentation:
